Alun – Alun Sidoarjo.


 

Alun Alun Sidoarjo is one of the tourist attractions in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province. Located on Jalan Ahmad Yani Sidokumpul, Gajah Timur, Magersari, Kec. Sidoarjo, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java 61212, Indonesia is about ±6.26 Km from the Sidoarjo Regent's Office.

Sidoarjo Square is shaped like a park, combined with sports facilities and various game facilities for children. This place is very suitable to be used as a family tourist destination. The square area is usually crowded on weekends, especially on Sundays. Where the highway around the square, becomes the location of a car-free day, making it easier for the people of Sidoarjo to exercise without being disturbed by vehicle traffic.

On Car-free days, the square is crowded with various community circles, usually, there will be gymnastics together before doing strenuous activities such as running a marathon or running hundreds of meters.

On the other hand, the Sidoarjo square area is provided with a special place in the form of food or beverage tents, which can be used for food or beverage sellers. In this place, visitors to the square can get a variety of culinary menus according to taste.

Sidoarjo square itself also has a Jayandaru monument. This monument was erected in 2015. Milkfish, rice, and shrimp found at the top of this monument describe the products produced by the people of Sidoarjo. The name Jayandaru itself comes from Sanskrit. Jaya has the meaning of glory, while ndaru has the meaning of Revelation so this monument has the meaning of the people of Sidoarjo can achieve victory or success when facing various situations so that the prosperity of the community can be maintained.



When the beginning of this monument was erected, around the Jayandaru Monument, there were 9 human statues depicting the embodiment of the work of the people of Sidoarjo in general, namely farmers and farmers, but the existence of the human-shaped statue was protested by some people and they asked for the statue to be removed because the statue was considered an idol. Currently, the statue is no longer visible in the Jayandaru Monument area, all that remains is a single monument full of meaning.

In addition to being a tourist spot for family, Sidoarjo Square is also a place for community gatherings from various circles. Starting from the dance community, the skate community, and even the Cosplay community (costume play) also make the square a place of discussion.

Sidoarjo Square is right next to the great mosque of Sidoarjo. Which is the most vulnerable mosque in Sidoarjo. Where it has a variety of complete facilities and can accommodate up to thousands of pilgrims. The mosque is also equipped with an excavator and also an LCD projector to display the imam when preaching.

In addition to the mosque, Sidoarjo Square also provides a sports venue for all circles. Where there are athletic tools such as leg swings, light weight lifting, as well as various others in the corner of the park, complete with small children's games. On the other end, Sidoarjo Square provides a large field that is quite flexible. Which can be used as anything. Such as basketball, volleyball, futsal, and badminton.

At certain times, Sidoarjo Square also often holds events or bazaars. Just like during Ramadan, the Square will hold a bazaar stand, or when a big day is held such as Sidoarjo's birthday, it will be prayed for various competitions such as fashion show competitions, child dai, and others.

Although the overall cleanliness and order is the responsibility of the civil service officer, it's good for us as citizens and good Visitors to maintain the cleanliness that exists. After all, there has been much garbage in every corner so as not to have difficulty in finding a trash can.
